circus girl ! ! !
Omigoddess... It looks like I may run away and join the circus!!

I went to my aerial conditioning class at the SF Circus Center tonight, and one of my classmates was talking about flying to Florida to join a circus and tour the East Coast for 9 months.
"Do they need more people?" I asked, not really expecting a yes.
"Yeah, acutally they need one more woman. Do you want to do it?"
"YES!"
"You'll have to drop your life here."
"I know. I'll do it. How could I not say yes to an opportunity like this? Yes, yes, yes!"

She told me about the act (air ballet on a ladder + some showgirl stuff), the pay (room and board + $525/wk if I'm also willing to work 2hrs/day in the ticket office), the schedule (shows at 4pm and 8pm). She asked me what I'm like to live with since we could end up bunking together, so we talked about that, how we are in training, things we're working on with our bodies, etc. W're both massage therapists, so we could help each other keep our bodies healthy. She suggested we might also be able to make some extra cash massaging our fellow cast members.
I'm going to send my resume and some pictures to her contact tomorrow; he asked her to help him find someone, and she hasn't announced the opening anywhere else, so she thinks that if she reccomends me, he'll just say yes. I really hope that does turn out to be the case!! Time is getting down to the wire: we'd need to learn the act between March 12-17, and start performing on the 18th. Supposedly the ladder act is something that "any athletic person could learn." We're both really excited at the training potential in traveling and living with a circus.

I left the circus center wondering if I should give up or sublet my apt. I went to the contact jam and told everything to my good friend Ali (who lived in my room one summer).
"Oh, you know what, my best friend in the world is looking for an extended sublet. She's a friendly vegetarian, nonsmoker with no pets, who's really clean and like's to cook. I'd trust her with my life." Ali replied.
"Perfect!!"
"Sounds like it:)" We grinned at each other.

Once again I feel blessed by San Francisco magic... Thank you, thank you, thank you!
